A Birthday Card to my Wife

-

Birthdays are a funny thing, I guess we both should know

For it’s from these lifelong milestones that or clearest memories grow.

Each year we reminisce about the months that just passed by

And we can’t help but wonder what for us the future lies.

I can’t help but ponder at the reason it might be

That the older you become the younger you do look to me.

You are one special woman from the inside to the out

My choice of you was perfect and in that there is no doubt.

You spent your years unselfishly and worked your fingers down

I hope you know your sacrifice will earn a special crown.

And now it’s time for you to soar and find what’s in your heart

Your talent and your spirit have created your first start.

I know we’ve had our ups and downs and life can be so cruel

Yet the two of us can face it all, we are the steadfast duo!.

We have a few more good years left, and who knows about the rest

These years that face our future might just be the very best.

So enjoy your day and say a prayer that He will bless your way

He knows your very spirit and the notes of which you pray.

I love you more that this stone heart is able oft to show

But know, my dear that I love you more than you could ever know.

….(the rest of this card is not family friendly)
