A mother’s job just never ends I guess that’s how it goes
The feelings and concern for kids, a mother only knows.
The prides and heartaches like a stream just never seem to stop
But take a breath and tough it up! By the way where is your mop?
Yes we know this is your day, it happens every year
Flowers, cards and wishes whispered sweetly in your ear
And while this day is meant to show you how we really feel
Mr. Hallmark and the flower shops aren’t giving any deals
So why do we get stuck with all this extra cash flow drain
And why is Mother’s Day the biggest time for retail gain
You should already know we care, we ate your food for years
We even let you cleans our clothes and wipe away our tears
I mean come on we let you shower us with love in times gone by
We let you honor us for years with all your cakes and pies
You had the privilege many times to serve Italian fare
When we ate we even let you clean the dishes there
All in all it seems mom that you’ve had it pretty fine
And I hope that sharing what we feel is not too out of line
You see we only tease a bit because we love your smile
There never was a mom with better love, charm and style.
Happy Mother’s Day
