We searched so hard and prayed to Him that somehow you they’d find
But up in Heaven there’s the God who knows about all things
He chose to take you to a lake where anglers now have wings
Down here the water claimed you but the victory’s yours we know
For now your home is pure where only living water flows
God never makes an error and for this we will not blame
And yet we often wonder when our dreams go up in flames
Can you hear the tears fall Danny, you left love among your kin
Your children and your Paula held you up above all men
They loved you like no other and were quick to praise your name
You left a legacy of love, but they’ll never be the same
And there are those who called you friend, with memories so fine
The teams, the schools, the work we shared, will stay within our mind
As we grow old and memories slide there’s one thing that will stay
Your warming smile you shared with all, that always was your way

It’s the angels cheering for your strength but mostly for your love
Your health has been so tough on you, you fought the fight these years
Now let the comfort of the angels drown out the sorrow of our tears
